Frosting Flowers

6/17/18
Zoe and I watched some cake decorating videos on YouTube. We had a lot of frosting in our freezer left over from previous projects (birthdays and soccer celebrations). Plus some extra cupcakes from when we had made cupcake/brownie burgers. So we decided to try a popular “technique” where you use frosting to pipe a flower (specifically, a rose). We made three new buttercream frosting colors: orange, purple, and blue. Then we had to put the bags in the freezer because the frosting wasn’t stiff enough. We also didn’t have a flower nail so we used jar lids instead because you can pick them up and rotate them pretty easily. I only got to do about four roses, so they are far from being as good as the people on youtube, but it was fun to try, and they still looked okay in the end. imho.
