Churros
7/14/18
I had two of my good friends over and we wanted to do something involving food because we all like to eat. For a couple weeks I’d been wanting to make churros, especially with my other friend, who had successfully made them before (she couldn’t make it). So we pulled up a recipe and followed all the measurements and mixing instructions. We didn’t have the correct sized piping tip, but that was not our biggest problem. I don’t have any pictures, but our churros looked more like squiggles, or those little bits of batter that you spill on the edge of your muffin tin and end up baking. In short, they didn’t stay together or hold their shape.
We realized afterwards that our batter was waaaaaay too thin. We had missed a part of the recipe that said that we should be able to form a ball with our batter. In our defense, we had added everything, as they said, and even added more flour later… Clearly, it was not enough.
I plan to try making churros again at some point, because they are delicious, and I will update this post when I do.
P.p.s. And this one for a chocolate dipping sauce: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/churros-with-bittersweet-chocolate-sauce or maybe it was this one… http://www.thecandidappetite.com/2016/11/15/classics-churros-chocolate-dipping-sauce/
